Analysis of front page magazines

This is my analysis of some different genres of music magazine, I was looking into the different codes and conventions of different music magazines to see if I could incorporate these into my own magazine to make it look professional and real. Here are two different music magazine covers with detailed analysis on them to show the codes and conventions typical of there music genre.  

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Preliminary Task

This is my preliminary task, for my school magazine, this is my finished product. this only took a few weeks and all the pictures where taken by myself , no editing was done to this pictures they were just simply placed in to In-design and I added text to look like a magazine, this is not of good quality but was just a way of me first attempting In-design, as I have never used this before. Here you see both the front cover and the contents page for my school magazine.

Brief

The brief I'm working towards.

 

• Preliminary exercise: using DTP and an image manipulation program, produce the front page of a school/college magazine, featuring a photograph of a student in medium close-up plus some appropriately laid-out text and a masthead. Additionally candidates must produce a DTP mock-up of the layout of the contents page to demonstrate their grasp of the program.

• Main task: the front page, contents and double page spread of a new music magazine.

• All images and text used must be original, produced by the candidate(s), minimum of four images per candidate.
